Tameside businesses unite on the journey to net zero

Date Released - 14/11/2023

BUSINESSES are uniting in Tameside on their journey to achieving net zero to protect the planet.

The first Tameside Means Business Net Zero Festival will bring local organisations together to support each other in reducing carbon emissions.

Businesses are urged to book their place at the event, which will be held at Global Grooves' Centre for Carnival Arts at The Vale in Mossley on Friday 8 December from 9am to 1pm.

The festival will feature guest speakers, interactive experiences, green business networking and much more to help businesses move forward whilst being part of a collective that makes a positive change for all.

Supported by Tameside Council and the Business Growth Hub and sponsored by Dukinfield-based World Heat Cylinders, the free event will provide opportunities to take advantage of fully-funded offers and peer-to-peer support to help grow businesses.

The Council is working with partner organisations, companies and residents to achieve the common goal of being carbon neutral in Greater Manchester by 2038.

Its Think Green campaign aims to inspire residents and local businesses to join the journey to a cleaner and greener Tameside.

Councillor Denise Ward, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Climate Emergency and Environmental Services, said: “I’m delighted that businesses are supporting each other on their journey to net zero and I’d urge as many as possible to book their place at this exciting festival where they can get the latest advice on funding offers and initiatives that will help grow their business in a green way, alongside peer support.

“We all need to work together and do our bit to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment.”

Businesses can register to attend at https://TMBNetZeroFestival.eventbrite.co.uk. The Vale is at Unit 2, Vale Mill, Micklehurst Road, Mossley, OL5 9JL.
